OMIA:001212-9986 : Curvature of distal foreleg in Oryctolagus cuniculus (rabbit)

Categories: Limbs / fins / digit / tail phene

Links to MONDO diseases: No links.

Mendelian trait/disorder: yes

Mode of inheritance: Autosomal recessive

Considered a defect: yes

Key variant known: no

History: This disorder was first reported by Pearce (1938). The occurrence of the same phenotype in New Zealand white rabbits in South Africa was reported by Pulker et al. (2011).

Inheritance: In two 1960 papers, Pearce presented evidence of single-locus autosomal recessive inheritance.

Genetic engineering: Unknown
Have human generated variants been created, e.g. through genetic engineering and gene editing
