OMIA:001807-9615 : Leishmaniasis, susceptibility/resistance to in Canis lupus familiaris (dog)

Categories: Immune system phene

Possibly relevant human trait(s) and/or gene(s) (MIM number): 602068 (trait)

Links to MONDO diseases: No links.

Mendelian trait/disorder: unknown

Considered a defect: yes

Mapping: By conducting a GWAS on 115 resistant and 104 susceptible Boxer dogs, each genotyped with the Illumina CanineHD BeadChip (yielding 126,607 SNPs for analysis), Quilez et al. (2012) highlighted regions on chromosomes CFA1, 4, and 20 "although none of these were statistically significant at a genome-wide level and after correcting for genetic stratification and lifestyle".

Genetic engineering: Unknown
Have human generated variants been created, e.g. through genetic engineering and gene editing
