OMIA 000514-9615 : Hypertriglyceridaemia in Canis lupus familiaris

In other species: domestic cat

Possibly relevant human trait(s) and/or gene(s) (MIM number): 145750

Mendelian trait/disorder: unknown

Considered a defect: yes

Cross-species summary: Elevated fasting serum triglycerides concentrations are called Hypertriglyceridaemia. Primary Hypertriglyceridaemia is caused by genetic defects that cause abnormal triglyceride metabolism while secondary Hypertriglyceridaemia can be associated with other causes, such as nutrition, drugs, and/or other metabolic syndromes.

History: Thanks to Hamutal Mazrier for noting the previous lack of this entry (8 Jan 2015).

Breed: Miniature Schnauzer.
