OMIA 001694-9598 : Resistance/susceptibility to lentivirus in Pan troglodytes |
In other species:
domestic cat
,
sheep
Mendelian trait/disorder:
yes
Considered a defect:
no
Key variant known:
yes
Year key variant first reported:
2019
Molecular basis:
Warren et al. (2019) and Bibollet-Ruche et al. (2019) reported different missense variant that create glycosylation sites in the CD4 molecule, substantially decreasing the chance of lentivirus attachment, and hence infection.
