OMIA 002059-9823 : Abortion due to haplotype 8-2026 in Sus scrofa
Mendelian trait/disorder: yes Mode of inheritance: Autosomal Recessive Considered a defect: yes Key variant known: no Species-specific description: Following the excellent example from dairy cattle, Häggman and Uimari (2017) searched the genomes of 871 Finnish Yorkshire AI boars for SNP haplotypes with reasonable frequency that never occur homozygously. Of 26 putative lethal haplotypes identified, one (8-2026) was associated with number of stillborn piglets. Mapping: Haplotype 8-2026 is located at 107.0–113.3 Mb on chromosome SSC8.
