Species-specific description: Li et al. (2023): "The Chinese commercial “Yufen I” laying hen hybrid lines are cultivated by Henan Agricultural University and include 3 lines. H line chicken plumage is almost white with black barring on the hackles, primaries, secondaries, and tail, and is sex-linked inheritance ... . This coloration is very similar to the Columbian plumage pattern, but with the barring substituting for the black vertical striping. ... The results show that the sub-Columbian plumage pattern is formed by the SLC45A2 that controls sliver feathers [see OMIA:000915-9031] and CDKN2A that controls barred spots [see OMIA:000102-9031]. "
