Cross-species summary: Dilatation and atony of the body of the oesophagus, usually associated with asynchronous function of the oesophagus and the caudal oesophageal sphincter. Causes regurgitation and aspiration pneumonia. This disorder occurs in many different forms, many of which are not inherited.
