OMIA 001273-9940 : Resistance/susceptibility to Fasciola gigantica in Ovis aries |
Mendelian trait/disorder:
unknown
Considered a defect:
yes
Species-specific description:
Roberts et al. (1997b) reported the results of assessing resistance to a type of liver fluke, Fasciola gigantica, in the segregating generations of a cross between the highly resistant Indonesian Thin Tail (ITT) and the susceptible St Croix breeds of sheep. The data were suggestive of a gene of large effect on resistance.
Breed:
Indonesian Thin Tail.
