History:
The first report of this trait in cattle was by Allais-Bonnet et al. (2013), gleaned from a survey of "more than 100 French breeders, agricultural engineers and agricultural technicians for putative observation of additional phenotypes associated with polledness".
Clinical features:
As reported by Allais-Bonnet et al. (2013), "visual examination of 166 horned and 78 polled animals" revealed a very strong association between this trait and polledness due to the Celtic and Friesian polled alleles.
