Categories: Skeleton phene (incl. short stature & teeth)

Links to MONDO diseases: No links.

Mendelian trait/disorder: no

Mode of inheritance: Autosomal recessive

Considered a defect: yes

Key variant known: no

Species-specific description: There have been several isolated reports of dwarfism in pigs. The two reports with the greatest clinical detail are those by Kaman et al. (1991) and Shirota et al. (1995).

Inheritance: Jensen et al. (1984) provided convincing evidence of single-locus autosomal inheritance for one form of porcine dwarfism.

Genetic engineering: Unknown
Have human generated variants been created, e.g. through genetic engineering and gene editing
